“i love…”

It’s time for another one of these.

1. days filled with lots of laughter.

2. the “how I’ve seen God this week” part of meeting.

3. the comfort of my Chacos after walking around campus in poorly-chosen shoes.

4. really cute aprons, and baking “just because.”

5. taking a moment during worship and realizing the feeling of joy and love is mutual in a huge crowd of people.

6. that moment when everything “clicks” when you finally understand something tricky.

7. naps in general.  But especially when it is the perfect weather to leave the window open!

8. the smell of new things.  Freshly cut grass, new asphalt, that “new plastic” smell, etc. (I’m weird.)

9. school supply shopping! (minus expensive textbooks)

10. when strangers return a friendly smile.

“i love…”

1. the heart-shaped birthmark on my arm. When I was considering tattoo designs, a heart was one of them.  Then I realized that I already have one!

2. red lipstick. It is so fun, no doubt about it.

3. handwritten notes/letters.

4. the smell of salons; it reminds me of my mom.

5. really well-done graphic design. (websites, ads, packaging, motion graphics)

6. making up silly constellations.

7. catching a whiff of the “laundry/dryer vent” smell on a cold day.

8. when the perfect song to match your mood plays on the radio.

9. chubby babies.

10. songs with beautiful harmonies.

“i love…”

I love making “I love…” lists.  It doesn’t matter what kind of mood I’m in…if I am happy, it just makes my day better.  If I am grumpy or sad, it makes me look on the bright side of things, reminding myself that I have much more to smile about than frown.  I sort of came up with this idea after hearing two friends (they’ll know who they are) talking about playing the “I love…” game.  They would take turns texting “I love…so-and-so, etc” back and forth to cheer each other up, or simply to make the other one giggle.

And of course, anyone who knows me knows I am quick to love people/things and that I love/am kind of obsessive about making lists.  I also have no qualms about sharing my “I love” list because I hope they’ll brighten someone’s day! So here goes!

I love…

1. seeing God in the simple things.

2. making wishes on dandelions

3. the smell of bookstores…I could look at books forever.

4. coloring.

5. children who love without fear. It is such a good example.

6. floating on my back in the pool/ocean.

7. the sound of the symphony tuning. It’s a sound close to my heart.

8. finding the perfect gift for someone!

9. hearing families speak different languages. (I’m a sucker for Spanish.)

10. a good belly laugh…until your stomach hurts.
